We had good flights home. Istanbul to Amsterdam and Amsterdam to Vancouver. The KLM flight was excellent - even tho it was 9 hours long. Great staff and meals. We enjoyed it and even watched a couple of movies. Highly recommend travelling with KLM.
We arrived in Vancouver with not much sleep for many hours but were cheered greatly but having most of the family show up to greet us. Even Laurel was there from Calgary so that was great. Josh and Shan and Rob were there, Don and Dee and Wyatt arrived and we had a lovely meeting. Shan gave me a lovely rose, I gave each one a Greek and Turkish greeting - kisses to both sides of the head.
We went to a hotel which had been reserved and our huge suite was used for visiting and celebrating Wyatt's first birthday. Of course it was the 5th but we couldn't all be here then!
We had a great evening and next day we went to Dee's and over to Granville Island for lunch and a stroll.
Shan, Rob and Josh left in early afternoon to get back to Victoria, Laurel flew out at 6 pm and we caught the 7 pm ferry to Nanaimo.
It was great to be home and sleep well in our own bed. 3 days later and I'm still dreaming of odd historical sights in Turkey - not real places, but still travelling in my dreams.
Oh dear - I think I prefer pictures of Turkish ruins to that face I'm making. ;-) I hope the jet lag has relented and you're sleeping better hours now.
