Late Saturday afternoon we decide that we haven't put in enough 'steps' so we chose to go downtown and then to the beach to see the sunset.
The waves were a little stronger than sometimes and many younger people were enjoying the surf.
There were 2 catamarans in the bay, one sailboat, and so many of the local pangas. The pangas are used for fishing, for taking people out to see the dolphins and turtles, and to other beaches. It is a busy little industry.
The sunset was exciting. As it set we could actually see the red glow shining through under the cloud bank.
We walked back home via the tourist street. It was very quiet at 5:30 when we made our way over to the beach. Now at 7 pm a few more people were out and about.
There is an 'illy' coffee shop in town. We discovered it a few days ago and remember it from when we were in Greece. We stopped to have an iced coffee (cappucino frio frappe) and it was so fabulous. It will be our 'treat' place from now on. Jim ordered a hot cafe macciato because the icy drink wouldn't be good for his throat/cold that's still hanging on.
By the time we head home we realize that the tourist steet is getting busy with people who want to be out at night. We are happy to walk back home and have a quiet evening in our own place..
Sunday a.m. So many reasons to stay awake all night!!! Our coughing, our neighbour's coughing, a horrible sounding cat in heat, dogs barking, music wafting from blocks away, roosters crowing (they don't tell time), jake brakes on highway trucks, and gekkos who clack so very loudly to make their presence known!
We decide this will be our inside day. I make our instant coffee and then we get started.
It is a day for cleaning house, reading, (have read 4 books daily, for body, soul, and spirit), replacing water supply, relaxing - sleeping in the hammock, and, oh yes, I cut my hair shorter yet.
Maybe you should have brought Josh's trimmers with you, Mom.
