From Delos we were ferried for 45 minutes to Mykonos. It is entirely a tourist trap. I guess the big hint is that a huge cruise ship was there. We saw large groups of Americans (first time) and French people being guided through the town. We did enjoy our walk through the town and a look at the old styled windmills at the far end. The town is very much like most choros on these islands. We stopped for a yummy gyro (pronounced hero by the Greeks), and later stopped for our iced coffee treat (at more than we've ever paid for it).
We had 3 hours there and were ready to go back our ferry in 2.5 hours. It was a full day and a long ferry ride of 2 hours back to Naxos. The seas were with us so not as many sick people around.
isn`t gyro pronouced `hero` by everyone?
ReplyDeleteNo dear, only those in the know!
ReplyDeleteSo enjoying your blog, Pat. Sometimes I feel I am with you and when you describe rough seas, am happy I am not. Phil & Faye have been here over a week - boys are laying laminate in Dea's basement. Should finish today and they'll be gone. Figured she could pay uncle as well as someone she didn't know. Looks good. Weather around 30. Take care. Love Sharron
