Things I'm glad I brought
#1. OIL OF OLAY WITH SPF 15
I put it on my face and neck every morning and have not had any hint of sunburn. I much prefer it to the suntan lotions.
#2. My Ecco sandals.
From time to time I have had a few places on my feet that were blistered but they have toughened up and now I can wear them all day without any complaint. They are light, airy and have good support.
#3. My very light cotton shorts and shirts.
I have others that have some polyester in them and they are impossible for me to wear – too heavy and hot. That means my costume doesn't change very much but I am comfortable and that is more important to me. It does mean lots of hand washing. I've needed my light cotton skirt for a couple of visits to monasteries. I've bought two light cotton blouses here and a pair of cotton shorts, my own very light t-shirts still feel like too much clothing.
#4. Faceclothes
When we are conserving our water supply it is great to pull out a facecloth, wet it, and wash off. A little cloth goes a long way.
My address book
I like to send a few postcards even tho most of my family reads my blog.
My glasses and glass cleaner
Everyday my glasses have greasy suntan lotion on them and often a little salty sea spray so it's great to be able to clean them well.
Greek Island Books
Our travel books have been invaluable to us. We only brought the ones for the Greek Islands and once we hit the Peloponesse we had to buy a mainland book to help us out there. None of them are a help with coming in from the sea but there is a book on board that is an excellent maritimer's aid.
So, it's like they always say, “Take half of what is in your suitcase, and twice as much money”.
I guess that's all I needed.
Sounds like you packed well, and were prepared to adjust, Mom. And, it's great to see some more 'people pictures' ;-) The picture of you in your white cotton outfit and sunhat is SOOOO cute!

Hi guys. Mom would be proud of you Patsy to hear about the oil of Olay. I didn't know it came with spf also, I will try it. You wear exactly what I wear cotton t-shirts and shorts. Nothing beats cotton, actually the cheap shirts are cooler as they are not such a high density of cotton. And glass cleaner good idea.
