Please note: my photos are completely backward to the story line. Oops.
We woke up at 7:30 this a.m., after sleeping for 12 full hours. Hard to imagine but I guess sleep too is important for us until these colds are gone.
Toast and coffee for Breakfast and then it was time to go to the bank.
We wanted to pay our landlady the balance of January payment. We knew there were some ATMs and banks up near the Super Che so we headed off there again.
We saw 2 large squirrels playing in a tree. Jim got good pics of them.
As we headed uptown we were pleased to discover a very nice commercial section of town. Lots of nice shops that deserve another trip (for me).
Our first attempt to get money from an ATM only dispensed in 50 peso bills (that's like $5.00 at home). We looked a bit more and found a bank, HSBC, and used their ATM. The people lines inside were crazy long. At least that ATM dispensed in $200. (which is actually $20. to us.)
It was an enjoyable morning and we were able to keep to the shady side of the street.
Back home we paid our rent, cleaned the floors (cleaner only comes once a week) and then had a nice lunch. A satisfactory morning and deserving of a siesta!!
By 2 pm we were ready to try another hike. This one was quite exciting. Around the rocky wall of the lighthouse point is a marvelous man-made cement and rock pathway. Many stairs and curves but every corner also presents a wonderful vista. It's named Andador Escenico.(sounds like walking stairs to me but not sure). Finally we made it back to the beach where so many vacationers were enjoying their vacation.
I want avocado.
