January is over and I've done my bookwork. I've always kept track of what we spend and where we spend it and this trip is no different. Just so we keep a feel of where we spend our money I'm a little surprised at how it's been spread around.
I've calculated by our money being 10 Mex to 1 Cdn. which is pretty accurate once you calculate exchange and ATM fees.
Groceries (anything we buy at a grocery store) - $359.00 Cdn.
Our meals at home have been simple. Partly because the kitchen is basic, just a stove top... and partly because it's too hot to cook much,... and partly we've not felt like eating much due to our colds.
Cafe (even the coffee shops) - $353.00 Cdn
We like to try the cafes but haven't been overly impressed with the few meals we've had. One place had great flavour and we may have to go back again. There are so many still to try!!
Taxi (except for Jim's generous tips we only pay $2.50 a trip) $40.00
Tours and touristy stuff $398.00
This big babe was the breeding croc for the farm we visited. He and his partner were very impressive. Glad they were behind a fence.
That's January spent and paid for, not counting our rent of $45.00 a day (no monthly rates here!) and not counting the flight costs.
I know that for 2010 at home we spent well over $8000.00 on groceries!! This compares better.
Our fist ice cream treat just a few days ago. A Magnum with dark chocolate on vanilla ice cream - for $2.00. We enjoyed!
everything looks delicious. & prices seem great - we seem to spend that every weekend...
ReplyDeleteis that a croc farm? for purses & luggage??
It's definitely less here on most things.
ReplyDeleteOne exception, my Oster blender would be $85. here, it may have been $50. at home.
The croc farm was just to reintroduce the crocs to the wild in the lagoon. No actual 'farming'.
Cute pic, Mom
