I think I forgot to mention that Jim and I sailed with Marg and Dave over to their 'cottage' on Pender Harbour (actually Madeira Park).
It took 8 hours to make the trip even with very favourable winds. We had to skirt an area known as Whiskey gulf due to 'canadian navy activity' being practised.
We arrived Wed. evening at PH and found everything in good shape. We mostly just cleaned the yard a bit and watered everything thoroughly. Dave had some work to do on his boat and had to put it up in his 'cradle' so he could get to the underside when the tide was out.
I spent several hours watering the neighbour's yard. They don't actually live there but have a beautiful house on the bay. They would do the same for M & D if they happened to be there.
We overnighted at a local marina so that we could leave early even tho the tide was low.
Friday a.m. we sailed back to Nanaimo. The winds were good again and although we still had to skirt Whiskey gulf, we were home in 8 hours.
Pure sailing, pure joy.
oh yay - photos!!
