Eyeglasses - we used to call them spectacles

It was a marathon of shopping and eliminations to finally decide who to go with for my latest prescription glasses.
I chose a local company who has been in business here for 60 years - so I'm told. Their price was not the lowest but definitely not the highest - that prize went to Iris.
I close Maycock because I had the feeling that they would stand behind their product. My second visit to the 4 other optical shops made me feel like they really didn't care if I bought from them - in that they couldn't bother to find me sunglass clips that would fit that particular set.
As I walked into one of the store competitors the optometrist was sitting at the reception desk with his finger up his nose, digging. I thought to myself he'd better wash his hands before serving me, but he didn't. I made a quick tour and left.
So, glasses and clip-ons will arrive this week and I will have closed another door in prep of travelling this summer.
I found some other sunglasses (100 UV protection) that will actually cover eyeglasses so I just may buy a couple of those to have with me too. 2 for $20!
I'll be seeing you
in all the old familiar places...
